This is the second in a two part series wherein I explain why prioritizing food security is important and then argue that the Administrations’ goal may be a little too ambitious for one election cycle.

The new administration intends to take action on the National concerns that are healthcare, food security, manufacturing and housing. (Olick & Kisika, 2018). According to the pronouncement, Kenya will be made 100% food secure in 5 years. I will analyze a food security index compiled by ‘the Economist Intelligence Unit’ and then advocate for institutionalized, sustained efforts towards bolstering the nations’ food security.
