As is the tradition, the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA-Kenya) encourages the corporate, social and other interested stakeholders to participate in the budget making process by submitting their budget proposals to be included in the budget statement by the National Treasury. This year’s annual pre-budget hearing was held on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th, February 2018 at the Sarova Stanley Hotel, Nairobi. These hearings saw a range of proposals received from different sectors of the economy. All the submissions received are later synthesized by IEA in form of a Memorandum of Principles and Proposals and presented to Treasury for consideration.
