Annual Report 2009
IEA-Kenya in 2009 joined ranks with the rest of the institutions and citizenry and remained engaged throughout the year in contributing and informing the Constitutional Review process. The dedicated research of Kenya Divides Perception Study in Kenya: Prospects, Challenges and Future in particular informed the finance and devolution chapters of the draft constitution. Nevertheless, the overarching area of concern during the year was raising resources to sustain the activities of the institution.

Addendum to the Annual Report 2007
This is a correction of 2007 Annual Report, Financial Report section. In the process of laying out the document, the size of the table carrying the financial report was adjusted. In so doing some figures disappeared.

Annual Report 2008
The year 2008 started on a sad note with the Nation at war with itself. The mood impacted on IEA's work starting with the re-shaping of the Strategic Plan (2008-2013) which was slated to come into operation in july. In particular, IEA's programme focus brought to the fore research issues on equity, poverty reduction, governance and devolution, some of which had been cited as the root cause of the 2007 post-election conflicts. There was also delay in mobilising the requisite resources to implement the strategic plan.

Annual Report 2004
The IEA-Kenya launched and commended the implementation of the strategic plan 2004-2008 in 2004. The strategic plan focus on three strategic themes:upstream influence,downstream participation and institutional sustainability. The programmes that are to be implemented under this strategic plan will focus on four broad thematic areas. These are; Economic Regulation and competition policy, Management of Public Finances, Trade policy development and Reform and Building common futures for Kenyans. Inaddition ,the Institute introduced the Special Projects programme which comprises of various incubator projects such as the Judicial Reform project, production of statistical bulletins and Fact books, consultancies and research.

Annual Report 2006
IEA-Kenya continued to grow in size and to influence public affairs in 2006, both at the national level and at the sub-national level. The institute still remains committed to promote sustainable institutional and economic policy reform in kenya which enhances social justice and dignity. Despite the politics and the preparations for the upcoming general elections, IEA-Kenya played its role well in the various areas of our work.

Annual Report 2003
During the year 2003, the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA Kenya) marked nine years since its inception. It is indeed a unique year as it is the year the country witnessed the swearing in of a new NARC Coalition Government and the exit of the KANU Government, which had reigned for thirty-nine years. In the same year, the National Constitutional Review process picked up, culminating in a series of public debates of the first Draft Constitution, 2002 and the convening of the National Constitution Conference.

Annual Report 2005
The Institute of Economic Affairs remains committed to promoting sustainable public policy reforms in Kenya since 1994. The Institute has continued with the uphill task of engaging with the Government to implement these reforms. The year 2005 was the second year of the strategic plan 2004-2008. Annual report 1999-2000
The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) was established in 1994. Its roots however date back to 1992 and the Post Election Action Programme (PEAP), an initiative of Kenyan professionals and academics, which sought to introduce issue focus during the 1992 elections. The success of PEAP led to the institutionalisation of the initiaitive and formation of Institute of Economic Affairs
