The CSO Sustainability Index (CSOSI) for Sub-Saharan Africa is a tool created by USAID to study the strength and overall viability of CSO sectors in each country. The CSOSI tracks changes in the strength of the CSO sector over time and allows for cross-country comparison. Local CSO leaders and activists have found the Index process and final product to be a useful opportunity to look at the larger picture and reflect on sectorial advancements and remaining challenges. 2015 is the seventh edition of this publication.
