Equity in gender representation is constitutionally mandated and affordable to the Kenyan taxpayer. Some public figures have claimed that implementing the Constitution's gender equity clause is too expensive or will significantly increase public spending. Research by Institute of Economic Affairs, in partnership with the National Women Steering Commitee, shows that these claims are false.
